How to Use Chrome's Safe Browsing feature

 You may have been a victim of a malware assault or had your phone infected with a virus just by visiting a website. While Chrome browser cannot ensure complete safety, it can alert you to potentially harmful websites while browsing in safe mode, allowing you to avoid repeating those unpleasant incidents.

Browse in Google Safe Browsing will provide you with important information about the website you're visiting, such as whether it's safe or not. With Safe Browsing enabled, you will receive alerts to help protect you from malware, abusive sites and extensions, phishing, and dangerous and invasive adverts.

Chrome checks with Safe Browsing every time you visit a website or try to download something, depending on the level of protection you've set. You can select from three browsing options:

1. Enhanced protection provides security against known and potential new threats.


2. Standard protection provides security against known risks.


3. No protection: You can disable Safe


Browsing, but you will not be protected from potentially hazardous websites, downloads, or extensions.

How to alter the Safe Browsing protection level on Chrome

  1. Open Chrome browser on your phone and tap the three-dot icon at the top right.
